Development & Vision

About Portobello Square

Located in London’s famous Notting Hill, Portobello Square is a unique regeneration project, combining distinctive contemporary architecture and a strong sustainability ethos to create homes with a clean and modern finish that meet the needs of modern life while complementing the local surroundings.

Bond Mansions is the first of four apartment buildings being built in Phase 2 of this prestigious award-winning development and comprises a selection of one and two bedroom apartments for private sale, all with views across the park.

The Notting Hill area has witnessed remarkable change over the years from its humble beginnings as part of the Great Forest of Middlesex and then as an area of farmland up until the 1870s.

The rural character of the area began to change with the opening of the Grand Union canal in 1801 and the Great Western Railway in 1838. By 1890 the area was covered by traditional Victorian terraced streets.

Since then the wider area has attracted many newcomers creating the vibrant, diverse character for which it is famous.

The Developer

We are a different form of property developer, focussed on changing places through the highest quality urban and suburban regeneration.

With a history of developing new homes stretching back over 50 years we know what makes London and the places within it tick. Portobello Square is one of our most prestigious developments where we marry the best of private sector design and development with this historic feel to create a great new place, at home in one of the most interesting parts of old London.

It is not the houses we build but the spaces we create. Space is where we live, where we meet, socialise, do business, where neighbourhoods are born. Space can have shape, feel and beauty, becoming tangible and real. We create that space.

Across three carefully managed phases, Portobello Square is transforming this corner of London, creating 1,000 new homes, alongside shops and a new public park.

Phase 1 is now complete receiving many awards and accolades for its design, sustainability profile and overall vision.

Phase 2 is formed of four apartment buildings and a further collection of mews houses. Phase 3 is the final stage of the development, which will mark the overall completion of Portobello Square.

Considerable thought has gone into the design and planning of the development to ensure that Portobello Square has a strong sustainability profile.

Energy and water saving features and methods of reducing waste and pollution have been incorporated both in the development as a whole and also for each individual property.

Other key elements built into the design focus on reducing the impact on the local environment such as retaining the mature trees in Wheatstone Road and ensuring there are lots of green spaces available throughout the development.

Portobello Square Awards

Portobello Square began life in 2011 and since then the project has received many awards and accolades for its contemporary design and architecture and overall vision for the scheme.

With two Housing Design Awards, one Property Marketing Award and a What House Award already under its belt, the project has also been shortlisted (pending a final decision) for the What House Awards 2015 in the ‘Best Apartment Scheme’ and ‘Best Regeneration’ categories.

With integrity at its heart, Portobello Square is unrivalled in its ambition and unequalled in its excellence.

Here & Now began life in March 2011. Created to keep existing residents and the local community up-to-date with the regeneration and construction progress it also features engaging and relevant lifestyle and local interest stories.

Here & Now’s success lies, in part, to its continual process of change to ensure content remains relevant and informative to all the community in and around Portobello Square.
